EMBASSY 516: AKUSTIKA @ TERRANEO

The competition “Akustika and Muzika.hr take you to Terraneo” has given us the first five finals. Geenger Records had one of their own among them and it is Embassy 516 from Dubrovnik. They released their debut album 16 May 2012 entitled “Surveillance of the Environment”. This album offers twelve tracks ideal for acoustic renditions, and the band itself has successfully endeavored in such attempts.

Embassy 516 will undoubtedly present their atmospheric work at the Terraneo Festival with energy and with their hearts in the performance. The band way s unanimously chosen by the jury: Luka Pavić and Mate Škugor (Terraneo festival), Edo Plovanić and Krešimir Blažević (Muzika.hr), and Željka Rudar (Akustika).

EMBASSY 516: SURVEILLANCE OF THE ENVIRONMENT IS OUT!

The band Embassy 516 from Dubrovnik have released their debut album “Surveillance Of The Environment“ under Geenger Records. Their first-ever-release brings 12 tracks harmonious with the conceptual premise of the whole. This dream pop/shoegaze collective express their social consciousness via lyrics and music, speaking from the position of the human being watching upon the world with their curious eyes.

The band have been working on this album for a year in Kramasonik Studio with the producer Hrvoje Nikšić. However, first ever-written songs go back as early as 2006. Embassy 516’s album showcases braveness and no compromise, as they bring a piece of restless alter-rock to the audiences of the region.

Logically, 16/5/2012 was the symbolic release date. Surveillance Of The Environment is out now, talking you on a coherent 12-stop journey.

NEW BAND ON GEENGER - GO NO GO!

Among the new stars guided by the watchful eye of Geenger Records, a new band has emerged - Go No Go. This indie-rock band from Zagreb was formed in October 2011 and it consists of four well-known musicians. That is obvious from their sound that tells us they know exactly what they are doing.

Vocals and guitars are led by Tomislav Šnidarić (Ruiz, Yes Pes, Untold), Zdravko Šavor is behind the second guitar (Kiper, Garage Monsters, Paruzija), drums are governed by Goran Andrijanić (Brassneck) while the bass is managed by Ivana V. (Don’t Mess with Texas, Mutual of Omaha).

From their experience up to date, and also teh range in age, it is clear that each member contributes to the whole with their knowledge, leading it to a sound inspired by cult bands such as Fugazi, Superchunk and Dinosaur Jr., to the bands like Weezer and At The Drive In.

The single “Tommy Boy” will soon be announced!

MAKAZORUKI - "ON THE WIRE" PRE-ORDER

Hey, it’s been a while since we wrote about Makazoruki! It’s time we fix that now. Well, you already know that we exclusively published “In Vino Veritas” from their upcoming album “On The Wire” on our Record Store Day compilation a couple of days ago.

Now, you can pre-order the full album over at our Bandcamp page - CD or digital, the choice is yours, baby! And if you do so, regardless of the format, you will receive even five tracks from the album immediately, and the rest will follow on May 7th when the album will officially be released! Of course, you can download “In Vino Veritas” for free, even if you’re not interested in the whole album yet.

Makazoruki will also have a short tour in the Balkans area during June, but more about that sometime later. Stay tuned!

Our friends from Hemendex have some changes in the band line – up! First chance to see this new wave / pop visual attraction will be in „Mali Pogon“ of Tvornica Kulture, Zagreb. Concert will be next Friday, April 20th, 21 o’clock.

Hemendex will play some new material, but also you’ll enjoy tunes from Reset 1 & Reset 2 EP’s. Also, there we’ll be possible to find out what’s standing behind “Commercial Break”, split single with one-man band 1/2.

Support act will be rave / rock band Senzorz from Rijeka. This concert is must – see, so be there in Tvornica Kulture for 7 days!

EMBASSY 516: SOUVERAIN BIEN MTV VIDEO PREMIERE!

After few weeks in post – production, video for Embassy 516’s single „Souverain Bien“ is finally finished! Official web – premiere will be on MTV Adria site on 16th of April at 12 o’clock. Long – waited debut from Dubrovnik’s finest dream pop / shoegaze band is coming soon. „Surveillance Of The Environment“ album will be released precisely a month after video premiere, on May 16th.

Video is directed by Zlatko Tomić, and action is independent from space and time. It gives a look in past and present of main actress’s life (Katia Kozina). Also, special thanks goes to choreographer Deanira Popović and all girls from dance studio „Dea“ that appear in video.

Watch “Souverain Bien” video on Monday, April 16th. Official premiere on MTV Adria web site at 12 o’ clock!

CONSECRATION ON ROKAJ FEST / NEW ALBUM

Hey everybody, here’s a couple of short updates about Consecration!

The guys will be playing on one of the most popular festivals in Croatia – Rokaj Fest, which will take place on June 7th and 8th at Zagreb Fair. They will share the stage with big names such as Slayer, Mastodon, Enter Shikari and many more – don’t miss this if you’re nearby!

Also, their new album is in the making, and it will be released on Geenger Records in the following months. Be sure to follow us for more information, which will be unveiled very soon!

MTV BAND 2012. & GEENGER BANDS!

“MTV BAND 2012.” and Geenger Records have a strong relationship! Our bands Hemendex and Embassy 516 are in the Top 20 chart after 2 weeks of voting. This moment, almost 200 artists entered the contest. Also, on the whole list you can find our bands Ruiz and Hesus Attor, too!

It will end on 15th of April, and until then you can help our bands with your clicks on the voting link. 3 best bands will enter the ‘final battle’ in Club Jabuka, Zagreb, so it would be nice to see at least one band from Geenger label there.

NEW BAND ON GEENGER – CAN'T FAKE NATURE

Hello everybody, we have some great news for you – there’s a new band on Geenger Records, and it’s called Can’t Fake Nature!

Can’t Fake Nature was put up in Zagreb in 2010 as an exploration of slow, rolling ambient sounds that would perfectly fit as a soundtrack for documentary flicks on deep sea life. The early focus of the project was the process of creating musical structures over an imaginary image or a movie sequence. Thus the plot and context became the essence, while premeditated songwriting was secondary. Their music started to take desired form later when the project turned into a full band. Musically based in a somewhat heavier post-rock, Can’t Fake Nature laid down tracks to their story and self-released an EP entitled “You…” in September 2011.

Their newest EP named “High / Low Tide”, this time on Geenger Records, is expected very soon, so be sure to check back often for more fresh news and updates!

Hello everybody from Geenger Records! In the following text we’re looking for Croatian-speaking assistants, so we apologize if you can’t understand our news this time :)

“Geenger Records je zagrebačka izdavačka kuća koja djeluje u sklopu Građanske udruge za kulturu (Gokul) iz Zaboka. Osnovali su je 2009. godine iskusni glazbeni entuzijasti te scenski djelatnici uz neke od pokretača Moonlee Recordsa, istaknute hrvatsko-slovenske nezavisne izdavačke etikete.

Od samih početaka djelovanja polazimo od uvjerenja da je glazbeno izdavaštvo jedan od najizravnijih načina poticanja glazbeno-scenskog stvaralaštva kod mladih umjetnika, te smo odlučili tim načinom promovirati i poticati kvalitetnu glazbu koja je u medijskom prostoru neravnomjerno ili gotovo nikako zastupljena. Geenger Records je u stalnoj potrazi za bendovima koji, kvalitetom svoje glazbe, ali i idejama koje promiču, odstupaju od prosječne glazbene ponude bez obzira na žanrovsku ili regionalnu definiciju. Neprestano surađujemo s pojedincima i bendovima koji aktivno sudjeluju u oblikovanju društveno angažirane glazbene scene, putem podrške udrugama odnosno društvenim grupacijama s čijim se ciljevima poistovjećuju.

Glazbenici s kojima surađujemo prisutni su na svim relevantnim glazbenim festivalima u Hrvatskoj i regiji, od kojih bismo kao najpoznatije izdvojili INMusic, EXIT i Terraneo. Iza sebe imamo deset glazbenih izdanja, a u pripremi imamo još nekoliko koja će biti objavljena tijekom 2012. godine. Zahvaljujući iskustvu, predanom radu i suradnji s brojnim domaćim i stranim izdavačima, promotorima i klubovima, Geenger Records je s vremenom postao svojevrsni temelj na kojem su se izgradili neki od najkvalitetnijih mladih hrvatskih bendova.

Hrvatska alternativna glazbena scena vrlo je bogata ali, nažalost, dobrim dijelom nedovoljno medijski pokrivena. Izuzev Geenger Recordsa (te sestrinske kuće Moonlee Records) i nekolicine glazbenih entuzijasta, u Hrvatskoj slične inicijative zapravo nema, pa sa sigurnošću možemo reći da smo skoro pa jedina izdavačka uća/promotivna agencija koja se usko specijalizirala za ovakvu vrstu glazbe. Svoju ulogu vidimo u stvaranju boljih preduvjeta za mlade autorske bendove, od jednostavnijeg objavljivanja albuma te svih koraka koji su neophodni da bi album bio medijski prezentiran te tako došao do publike, praćenja bendova putem medijske prezentacije, koncertne promocije i ostalih aktivnosti koje su potrebne da bi glazbeni uradak došao do publike. Time bendovima koje prati naša izdavačka kuća olakšavamo ostvarivanje punog stvaralačkog potencijala.

Sve ovo, dakako, ne pišemo kako bismo se besramno ispromovirali ili požalili na odnos medija prema glazbi koja nije hrvatski glazbeni mainstream, već kako bismo potražili pomoć među drugim glazbenim entuzijastima i pojedincima koji smatraju da svojim iskustvom i dobrom voljom mogu pridonijeti ostvarenju naših ciljeva te poboljšanju stanja na hrvatskoj alternativnoj sceni.

Naime, broj bendova koji su prepoznali naše aktivnosti i žele s nama surađivati neprestano raste, dok je naš tim vrlo malen, pogotovo uzevši u obzir želje i planove koje bismo željeli ostvariti. Geenger Records (još uvijek) djeluje kao ostvarenje zaljubljenika u glazbu - ukratko, na osnovama dobre volje i slobodnog vremena, kojeg je uvijek premalo, pa bismo u svojim redovima rado htjeli imati još nekoga.

NEW GEENGER BAND: MAKAZORUKI!

Newest sound from Geenger Records are Makazoruki! They are musical testimony fueled by blasting and occasionally distorted guitar riffs, vocals singing and screaming deep from both singer’s throat and heart, and elephant-like stomping rhythm section.

Band was formed in 2002. in Netherlands, where four childhood friends found refuge from their war-torn hometown Zenica in Bosnia. After ten years of hard working, and two releases behind them (Self-Titled Album, 2006.; Analogue Breakfast EP, 2007.), it’s time to join Geenger family!

Touring frequently from its beginning, Makazoruki has played several times all great Dutch venues such as Paradiso, Melkweg, Vera and others. They were lucky to share the bill with great bands like Gone Bald, Obojeni Program, Peach Pit, Jacuzzi’s Attempt, Terrie The Ex, Vuneny, and many others.

EMBASSY 516 VIDEO RECORDING!

Dubrovnik’s finest “Embassy 516” started to record official video for their single “Souverain Bien”, from the upcoming album “Surveillance Of The Environment”. Video single will collect a complex story with many dancing and acting scenes on the theater stage.

Production took place in Marin Držić City Theatre, Dubrovnik. Zlatko Tomic and Maro Bosnjak taped the video with the help of Mario Miljak and Marko Mijatovic. Main actress Katia Kozina is travelling back in time and watching her younghood version. Band members are representing the criticism of society with dark uniforms and black binding on their faces.

Embassy 516 would like to thank choreographer Deanira Popovic and girls from “Dance Studio Dea”. Also, they are grateful to director Jasna Jukic for the permission to use the Marin Drzic City Theater for production.

RUIZ - LET'S MAKE A SOUND VIDEO!

In front of you on the screen you can see the new video for „Let’s Make A Sound“ from the Ruiz camp! This is the newest single that slowly is taking Croatia radio space (download for free on Ruiz official site)

Album RuizRadioRevolution (Geenger Records, 2011.) is chosen in Top 10 of the best Croatian albums, on the list of the known rock censors and proffesional musicians. In the last week of 2011., Radio 101 named album of the week, and „Let’s Make A Sound“ was on the top of the Indie Chart (Top 20) of the Radio 101 for long time. Ruiz took place on chart in front of the bands like The Black Keys, Arcade Fire, Fleet Foxes, dEus,… More than 100 concerts is behind them (Germany, Italy, Poland, Slovenia, Croatia,…)

A part of the incomings of the every sold album Ruiz will give to the „Association For Unborn Life - Betlehem„ which helps and gives home for mothers with life troubles that still want to bring life on Earth.
